Toll Treadle Systems
IRD DYNAX® Treadles are speed independent axle sensing systems that consist of sensors mounted in a metal insert. The metal insert is installed directly into a treadle frame in the road surface. Removable clamping bars secure the DYNAX® Sensors. This design eliminates the need for subsequent roadway excavation to replace sensors, making it ideal for use in toll and traffic monitoring applications where minimizing downtime is critical. IRD DYNAX® Treadles are unique due to their modular construction. The sensors are independent of each other and the treadle insert/frame. Should one sensor fail; only one sensor must be replaced. IRD has a wide array of treadle models, including single, two, three and four sensor models.
Conventional construction consists of two pieces, the frame and the insert.
Unibody construction combines the frame and insert into one high strength steel frame.
The IRD DYNAX® Single/Dual (S/D) Tire Sensor is durable and reliable, using force sensing resistive technology to determine single or dual tire groups on vehicle axles. When used in conjunction with IRD treadles, the Single/Dual Tire Sensor will provide additional classification information that can increase the accuracy of the system.
